Vietnam Tea Prices 2026: Indicative FOB Prices per kg by Grade

Importers ask us the same question every week: what are Vietnam tea prices per kilogram? This page answers it with our own indicative FOB prices, grade by grade. The tables and the answers below are generated from the same price list that feeds every product page on this site, so the figure you see here is the figure you see there, and both change together when our price list changes.

Prices are indicative, per kilogram, FOB Hai Phong, for export packing; they are not an offer. Grades not listed here are quoted on request.

How to read Vietnam tea prices

• Per kilogram, in US dollars. Bulk tea is traded by weight. Each product page states how many tons of that grade fit in a 40-foot container, from about 14 tons of large-leaf green tea to more than 20 tons of broken black tea.
• FOB. The price covers the tea, export packing and delivery on board the vessel at the Vietnamese port named in the table. Sea freight, marine insurance and import duties are for the buyer's account.
• A range, not a single price. The low end is for full-container quantities of the standard of the grade in the main season. The high end is for small lots, the top of the grade or early-season tea.
• Minimum order. Shown per grade. Ask us if you need a smaller trial quantity before a first container.

What moves Vietnam tea prices

1. Season. The first spring pickings in March and April give the finest leaf and the highest prices. Volumes rise and prices ease through the main season from May to October.
2. Grade and leaf size. In black tea, whole-leaf orthodox grades such as OP and FBOP cost more than brokens, fannings and dust. In green tea, tightly rolled young leaf costs more than large open leaf such as OPA and BOM.
3. Quantity. A full 40-foot container is priced lower per kilogram than a few pallets, because factory, transport and documentation costs are spread over more tea.
4. Packing. Bulk paper sacks or PP bags are the base price. Cartons, vacuum aluminium bags and private-label retail packs add cost per kilogram; see our packing and loading page.
5. Exchange rate and freight. We quote in US dollars while our costs are in Vietnamese dong, so the rate matters over a season. Ocean freight sits outside the FOB price but changes your landed cost, so compare FOB offers on the same basis.
