Vietnam Stalk Black Tea
Stalk black tea is the stem fraction separated during sorting. It gives a light, sweet cup with little astringency and is the lowest-cost base for flavoured teas (our economy Earl Grey is made on it), for blend filler and for extract. Standard bulk packing loads about 16 tons per 40HC.

Stalk black tea comes from the stems of the tea shoot. When dried orthodox tea is sorted, the stalk is separated from the leaf and graded as its own product. The pieces are yellow-brown and 0.5 to 1 cm long. Vietnam stalk black tea goes through the same withering, rolling, oxidation and drying as our leaf, so it shares the family liquor and aroma.
Stalk in the cup
Stalk brews a reddish-gold liquor with orange tones. Its scent is refreshing, with soft floral notes. You will taste malt, briskness and citrus, and a sweet aftertaste that is mildly tannic. Stalk can be brewed on its own, but its main use is in blends, where it brings the same orthodox character as the leaf.

Uses and Main Markets
Economical leaf for scenting and flavouring: Earl Grey, jasmine and fruit teas.
Adds body and a brisk, malty base to breakfast, Earl Grey and chai blends.
A fast, strong infusion for extraction, instant tea and ready-to-drink production.
Broken, fannings and dust grades go mainly to tea-bag packers and blenders in the Middle East, South Asia and Africa, and to extract makers in Southeast Asia.
Stalk Black Tea FAQ
What is stalk tea used for? Mainly as a low-cost base for flavoured and scented teas, as filler in blends and for extraction. It is rarely drunk plain.
Can I get a sample and a COA? Yes. We are always happy to send samples, so you can check the quality before you order. The sample you approve is the reference for the whole order. A certificate of analysis comes with each lot, and SGS or Dai Viet Control inspection and Eurofins lab testing can be arranged per shipment.
What is the minimum order? There is no minimum order; the price depends on the quantity. You can also combine several grades in one 20ft or 40HC container, and we will confirm how many tons of each fit.
What payment terms do you accept? Flexible terms: T/T, L/C or a combination of the two, agreed for each order and written into the proforma invoice. Payment goes only to the company account of Goo Farm Tea Vietnam Company Limited, never to a personal account.
How is Stalk Black Tea packed, and how much fits in a container? PP/PE bags, kraft paper sacks, export cartons or vacuum aluminium bags. A 40HC container holds about 16 tons of Stalk Black Tea with standard bulk packing. Private-label bags and retail packs are available on request.
