Vietnam PS Black Tea (Pekoe Souchong)
PS is a flaky broken orthodox grade with a larger, more open leaf than BPS. It gives a medium-bodied, malty cup and is used as an economical blending base and for budget loose-leaf packs. Standard bulk packing loads about 18 tons per 40HC.

PS stands for Pekoe Souchong. It is a broken grade of rolled orthodox leaf, made up of flaky pieces with a neat look. In size it falls between the whole-leaf grades and the smaller BPS. Vietnam PS black tea brews faster and stronger than whole leaf, which makes it a useful base for blends.
PS leaf, liquor and taste
PS gives a reddish-gold cup with orange tones and a fresh scent with a light floral touch. The taste is smooth and malty, with a full body. Brisk citrus notes lead to a sweet finish with mild tannin. This balance works plain or with milk, and PS is a common part of breakfast blends.

Uses and Main Markets
Adds body and a brisk, malty base to breakfast, Earl Grey and chai blends.
Whole and large broken leaf for tins, boxes and pouches sold as loose tea.
Leaf grades for pyramid and large-format tea bags where the leaf stays visible.
Broken, fannings and dust grades go mainly to tea-bag packers and blenders in the Middle East, South Asia and Africa, and to extract makers in Southeast Asia.
PS Black Tea FAQ
What does PS stand for? Pekoe Souchong: a broken orthodox grade with a flaky leaf, sorted between the whole-leaf grades and BPS.
PS or BPS: which should I buy? Choose PS for loose tea and blends where a visible leaf matters; choose BPS for tea bags and extract, where a faster, stronger brew and a denser load per container count.
Can I get a sample and a COA? Yes. We are always happy to send samples, so you can check the quality before you order. The sample you approve is the reference for the whole order. A certificate of analysis comes with each lot, and SGS or Dai Viet Control inspection and Eurofins lab testing can be arranged per shipment.
What is the minimum order? There is no minimum order; the price depends on the quantity. You can also combine several grades in one 20ft or 40HC container, and we will confirm how many tons of each fit.
What payment terms do you accept? Flexible terms: T/T, L/C or a combination of the two, agreed for each order and written into the proforma invoice. Payment goes only to the company account of Goo Farm Tea Vietnam Company Limited, never to a personal account.
How is PS Black Tea packed, and how much fits in a container? PP/PE bags, kraft paper sacks, export cartons or vacuum aluminium bags. A 40HC container holds about 18 tons of PS Black Tea with standard bulk packing. Private-label bags and retail packs are available on request.
