Vietnam FBOP and BOP Black Tea (Flowery Broken Orange Pekoe, Broken Orange Pekoe)
FBOP and BOP are the broken orthodox grades sorted just below the whole-leaf grades. The leaf is even and well twisted, and FBOP keeps some golden tips. Both brew a stronger, quicker cup than OP, which makes them the usual choice for blends and premium tea bags. A 40HC loads about 22 tons of FBOP or 20 tons of BOP.

FBOP (Flowery Broken Orange Pekoe) and BOP (Broken Orange Pekoe) are two broken orthodox grades. Both come from young, tender buds and tips, broken in rolling and then sorted by size. Vietnam FBOP and BOP black tea gives a stronger cup than whole leaf, yet the pieces are still large enough to see.

FBOP has short, slightly wiry pieces, less twisted than whole leaf, often with a few silver tips. BOP is smaller and neater. Both give a reddish-gold infusion with an orange hue and a fresh aroma with floral hints. Expect malt and briskness first, then citrus and a sweet finish that is only lightly tannic. FBOP is the higher grade: its extra tips make it slightly milder, though still robust. BOP is fuller, which suits drinkers who add milk.

Uses and Main Markets
Adds body and a brisk, malty base to breakfast, Earl Grey and chai blends.
Leaf grades for pyramid and large-format tea bags where the leaf stays visible.
Whole and large broken leaf for tins, boxes and pouches sold as loose tea.
Broken, fannings and dust grades go mainly to tea-bag packers and blenders in the Middle East, South Asia and Africa, and to extract makers in Southeast Asia.
FBOP / BOP Black Tea (Orthodox) FAQ
What is the difference between FBOP and BOP? FBOP (Flowery Broken Orange Pekoe) contains golden tips from the bud; BOP (Broken Orange Pekoe) is the same leaf size without tips. FBOP looks more attractive in the pack and is priced a little higher.
Is orthodox BOP the same as CTC BOP? No. Orthodox BOP is a broken, twisted leaf; CTC BOP is a round granule made by the crush-tear-curl process. CTC BOP brews darker and stronger and is used for milk tea.
Can I get a sample and a COA? Yes. We are always happy to send samples, so you can check the quality before you order. The sample you approve is the reference for the whole order. A certificate of analysis comes with each lot, and SGS or Dai Viet Control inspection and Eurofins lab testing can be arranged per shipment.
What is the minimum order? There is no minimum order; the price depends on the quantity. You can also combine several grades in one 20ft or 40HC container, and we will confirm how many tons of each fit.
What payment terms do you accept? Flexible terms: T/T, L/C or a combination of the two, agreed for each order and written into the proforma invoice. Payment goes only to the company account of Goo Farm Tea Vietnam Company Limited, never to a personal account.
